DKCO acted as legal advisor for Ab Ekorosk Oy in the procurement of transport services

DKCO acted as legal advisor for Ab Ekorosk Oy in the procurement of transport services for collection of bio- and packaging waste in ten municipalities in Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia and Southern Ostrobothnia. The procured transports, which include waste management from approximately 124,000 residents, will begin in the summer 2023. The agreements run for a maximum of four years, including option periods.

Within the procurement processes, Ekorosk has carried out a so-called market analysis, which has been a requirement since 1.7.2022 when procurements of property-specific waste transport services are planned.

In connection with procurements of vehicles and traffic services, the requirements on the number of vehicles that must be environmentally friendly and energy efficient will become stricter. The percentage varies between different geographical areas and increases over time. As of 2026 the requirements will also affect procurements in Ostrobothnia. Procurers now planning transport and vehicle procurements must consider how to ensure enough green vehicles and environmentally friendly transportation in the future.
